Back to our work

Aptilink has supported Sciences Po over the long term: designing and producing course content, creating resources to help staff and students get to grips with the digital tools, and training teams to run virtual classrooms — on a setup with demanding technical requirements.

The goal: to run two distinct programmes — a general training pathway and a civic pathway — in an environment interfaced with the institution’s student information system and able to absorb the peaks of the academic year.

Background & challenge

A leading higher education institution, Sciences Po faces varied teaching requirements and specific technical constraints. This assignment illustrates a different but equally structuring side of our expertise: long-term support.

Two separate programmes had to be rolled out and then kept supplied with content — a general training pathway and a civic pathway — with a three-year content production horizon.

On top of that came two demanding technical requirements: interfacing with Banner, the Sciences Po student information system, and keeping the platform steady during the busiest moments of the academic year.

What we did

Aptilink designed and produced the content for both pathways over a three-year horizon, and created resources to help teachers and students get to grips with the digital tools.

We also trained the teams to run virtual classrooms, so that synchronous delivery remains a teaching choice rather than a technical constraint.

On the technical side, the assignment included interfacing with Banner, which called for advanced systems integration expertise and close coordination with the institution’s IT department.

Results & impact

The platform holds up at its busiest: mass enrolments, simultaneous submissions and large-scale synchronous sessions are absorbed without disruption, with continuity and performance guaranteed when demand is highest.

Teachers and students have resources to help them use the digital tools, and the teams run their virtual classrooms with clear points of reference.

This assignment shows Aptilink’s ability to deliver long-term support work, which calls for technical rigour, teaching agility and close collaboration with an institution’s in-house teams.
