Ally

Ally helps education institutions improve theaccessibility of learning content, making it readable, understandable and usable by every student, including those with disabilities or specific needs.

Through automatic correction of accessibility barriers, the solution helps create an inclusive learning environment and supports compliance with the RGAA, the French accessibility standard whose obligations have applied to education institutions since 28 June 2025.

Alternative formats for students

Ally automatically converts the learning materials uploaded to the platform into multiple accessible formats : audio, ePub, HTML, electronic braille, and many more. This means every student can choose the format that suits them best, whether for reasons ofaccessibility, de disability or simply reading comfort.
Teaching teams no longer have to produce alternative versions by hand: Ally generates accessible formats automatically in a single click, while guaranteeing inclusive delivery that meets accessibility requirements.

Guidance for your teaching staff

Every learning resource uploaded to the platform is given a detailed accessibility score, together with clear, visual recommendations (colour-coded icons, simple and readable indicators).
Teachers are guided step by step to fix accessibility problems easily, with no need for specific technical skills.
Ally makes creating accessible learning contentsimpler, and fast, intuitive and effective, in the service of inclusive teaching that meets regulatory requirements.

Full reporting and steering

With accessibility dashboards bringing together the key indicators, you get a complete and detailed view of how accessible your learning content is at every level: course, department and institution.
These steering tools let youquickly identify where to improve, de track the progress made andanalyse how compliance evolves over time.

Straightforward integration with your LMS

Anthology Ally integrates easily with the main learning management systems (LMS) such as Blackboard Learn, Instructure Canvas, Moodle (including self-hosted), D2L Brightspace and Schoology, to analyse and improve the accessibility of learning content in your digital learning environment.

Rolling out Ally on Moodle

As part of its strategy fordigital accessibility and inclusion, theUniversity of Lorraine deployed Ally for Moodle to assess and improve the accessibility of its online learning content.

Context and challenges

A winner of the French national « Université inclusive démonstratrice »programme, the University of Lorraine is pursuing a proactive approach to making higher education accessible to everyone. The project, funded by the French Ministry of Higher Education and Research, forms part of a wider set of structural actions around inclusion and responsible digital practice.

Project objectives

The main objective was to test and measure how accessible the learning content was on the Moodleplatform, while gaining reliable indicators to steer future improvements.
The approach was deliberately experimental, with a limited scope, so as to confirm what the solution brings before any wider rollout.
