Arkema has embarked on an ambitious transformation to stay at the leading edge of innovation and sustainable performance. Against that background, the group wanted to equip its R&D managers to understand these changes better, turn them into levers for action and so strengthen the strategic impact of research.
Who is it for?
The programme is aimed at Arkema's R&D top managers — research centre directors, global heads and scientific experts. Helping them get to grips with what is at stake in data, artificial intelligence and digital creates real leverage across all R&D activity, and so contributes to the group's agility and competitiveness.
Objectives
The main objective was to strengthen the digital, data-driven culture of R&D leaders, so that they could:
- Identify and build the opportunities offered by data andAI into their strategies;
- Spur innovation and encourage new cross-cutting approaches to emerge;
- Support the shift of scientific roles towards ever more agile, connected and high-performing practice.
What we did

In partnership withMines Paris – PSL Executive Education, Aptilink devised and delivered an intensive six-week programme, blending different learning formats to maximise engagement and impact.
In practice, the pathway combined:
- interactive content hosted on Arkema's 360Learning platform, for flexible, collaborative learning built straight into the existing digital ecosystem;
- AI-generated learning videos made with Synthesia, for an innovative and dynamic take on the key concepts;
- concrete cases and contextualised studies, directly connected to the specific questions facing the R&D teams;
- themed webinars led by experts, encouraging discussion, shared experience and collective reflection.
Thanks to our expertise in instructional design and our ability to build bespoke programmes, our teams delivered a pathway aligned precisely with Arkema's scientific and business priorities, while keeping the learning anchored in real practice.
Results
R&D leaders gained access to training that was engaging, contextualised and immediately usable, and which:
- Prompted a strategic realisation of the levers data and AI offer;
- Fostered a shared view of digital priorities across the different entities;
- Laid the ground for lasting reuse of the content, through its integration on the 360Learning platform and the transfer of rights, allowing Arkema to update and enrich the programme as needs and technology evolve.
